Ryan Seacrest has shared a behind-the-scenes story from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding, revealing a conversation with the pop superstar that left him even more excited for what she promised would be an unforgettable celebration.
Speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the longtime television and radio host revealed that he was among the guests invited to the couple’s July 3 wedding in New York City. According to Seacrest, the invitation came with strict instructions to keep the event completely private, meaning he couldn’t say a word even as speculation about the wedding continued to dominate headlines.
“I had to keep a secret,” Seacrest explained. “It was a confidential invitation to everybody who was invited.”
Shortly after sending in his RSVP, Seacrest said he unexpectedly crossed paths with Swift and Kelce while they were out for dinner. During the conversation, Swift shared just enough to make him even more eager for the big day.
According to Seacrest, the singer smiled and told him, “It’s going to be so much fun. We’re gonna have the best time. It’s gonna go late.”
The TV personality said her excitement was contagious, and he couldn’t wait to celebrate with the couple. He also revealed that the dinner marked the first time he had met Travis Kelce in person, describing the evening as a memorable experience before the wedding festivities even began.

“I went through the minutes,” he joked, explaining that he carefully examined his schedule but couldn’t find a way to make both appearances happen.
While his co-hosts teased him for missing what many have called the celebrity wedding of the year, Seacrest said he was genuinely disappointed to miss the celebration and remains grateful that the couple included him on the exclusive guest list.
“I was so honored and thrilled to be invited,” he said.
During the Disney special, Seacrest and his fellow hosts even took a moment to congratulate the newlyweds, sending their best wishes as they celebrated their new chapter together.
The wedding also brought back memories of a lighthearted conversation Seacrest had with Swift following her engagement. At the time, he jokingly offered his services as the couple’s wedding officiant after revealing he had recently become ordained online.
“I happen to have just been ordained,” Seacrest told Swift during the interview. “I’m just throwing my name out there as the officiator.”
Swift laughed at the unexpected offer and replied that she was honored he would be willing to take on the role, calling the idea “fantastic.”
