Carrie Underwood gave fans a beautiful glimpse of her faith this month when she joined worship at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee.
The country superstar, who has never been shy about the important role faith plays in her life and music, took part in a special worship performance on Sunday, August 9. Rolling Hills held its regular Sunday gatherings that day at its Franklin campus.
Underwood performed two beloved Christian songs, “What a Beautiful Name” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” bringing the same powerful vocals that have defined her country career into a much more intimate setting.
A Different Side of Carrie
For fans accustomed to seeing Underwood on massive concert stages, television shows and award ceremonies, watching her lead worship in a church setting offers a more personal side of the superstar.
Her connection to Christian music has been part of her story since long before she became famous. Underwood has frequently incorporated her faith into her music and performances, including the release of her gospel album My Savior in 2021.
The Grammy-winning project featured classic hymns such as “How Great Thou Art,” “Softly and Tenderly” and “Amazing Grace.” It also included a collaboration with CeCe Winans on “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”
Faith Has Remained at the Heart of Her Music
Underwood’s faith has continued to influence her career even as she has taken on new roles and opportunities.
After joining American Idol as a judge, she helped bring a special focus to gospel music when the show celebrated Easter with a Gospel Night. Her passion for Christian music has remained evident through performances and appearances outside her country career.
Her connection with Rolling Hills Community Church has also included previous appearances during special services, making her latest worship moment another meaningful return.

A Heartfelt Performance
During “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” Underwood shared the stage with another vocalist, creating a moving musical moment that quickly drew attention from viewers online.
Fans who saw the performance praised the voices onstage and the emotional atmosphere of the worship setting.
But perhaps what made the moment especially meaningful was its simplicity.
There were no elaborate award-show effects or massive concert productions—just Underwood, fellow worshippers and songs centered on faith.
A Moment Fans Won’t Forget
Underwood has spent much of her career performing for enormous audiences, but moments like this show another side of the singer.
Her voice has filled arenas around the world, yet hearing it used in a church setting gives her music a different kind of emotional weight.
For those watching from home, the performance offered a reminder that beneath the superstar, American Idol winner and country music icon is an artist whose faith continues to be an important part of who she is.
And for the congregation at Rolling Hills, having Underwood join them for worship made an already meaningful Sunday even more special. 🙏❤️
