Keke Palmer is officially stepping into one of television’s most recognizable hosting roles.
After winning over viewers with her appearances on American Idol earlier this year, Palmer has confirmed that she will replace Carson Daly as host of The Voice beginning with Season 31. The announcement marks the first major hosting change in the show’s history and immediately sparked thousands of reactions from fans.

Palmer revealed the news through a playful Instagram video inspired by the viral “Say It 4 Ways” trend.
In the clip, she delivered the iconic phrase, “This is The Voice,” in four different styles—disappointed, excited, sarcastic, and flirty—before sharing the big announcement.
“That’s right, it’s true! I am hosting The Voice! I’ll see you guys there.”
NBC later confirmed that Palmer will host Season 31, a celebrity edition of the competition titled The Voice: Celebrity, which is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
Unlike previous seasons featuring aspiring singers, the special edition will showcase celebrity contestants competing for the title of the franchise’s first celebrity champion.
Palmer has already begun filming the new season.

The announcement quickly generated thousands of reactions across social media, with many fans celebrating Palmer’s latest career move.

What Happens to Carson Daly?
While many viewers welcomed Palmer, others immediately turned their attention to Carson Daly, who has hosted The Voice since its debut in 2011.
Although Daly has already completed filming Season 30, which premieres this September, he will not return as host for Season 31.
According to NBC, Daly will continue to be involved with the franchise as a producer, though the network has not said whether he could return as host in the future.

Another admitted that replacing Daly while introducing a refreshed format would make the show feel very different after so many years.
According to a previous report from The U.S. Sun, Daly reportedly decided to step away because balancing The Voice with his responsibilities on NBC’s Today had become increasingly difficult. The report also claimed he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Season 31 Coach Lineup Revealed
Alongside Palmer’s arrival, NBC also announced the coaching panel for The Voice: Celebrity.
Queen Latifah and Riley Green will return after making their coaching debuts in Season 30, while Joe Jonas joins the series for his first season as a U.S. coach.
The celebrity format represents one of the biggest changes in the franchise’s history, with well-known public figures replacing aspiring singers as contestants.
From American Idol Favorite to The Voice Host
Before joining The Voice, Palmer became a fan favorite during her guest appearances on American Idol Season 24.
She served as a mentor for the Top 24 contestants during Hollywood Week in Hawaii alongside country star Brad Paisley. Her encouraging coaching style and energetic personality earned widespread praise from viewers.
Palmer also joined judges Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie on the panel, offering feedback before performing her single, “All They Type.”
Speaking with Billboard earlier this year, Palmer revealed she has been a longtime American Idol fan.
She recalled growing up watching stars such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Ruben Studdard, and Bo Bice.
Palmer also shared that she auditioned for American Juniors in 2003 and advanced to Hollywood Week. More than two decades later, producers surprised her by showing footage from that audition during her return to the franchise.
