The Voice is preparing for one of the biggest transformations in its history.
While Season 30 is still set to premiere this fall, NBC has already unveiled sweeping changes for Season 31, which will arrive in 2027 with a celebrity-only cast, a new host, a revamped coaching panel, and several behind-the-scenes features designed to give fans a fresh viewing experience.
Officially titled The Voice: Celebrity, the upcoming season will move away from its traditional format of discovering aspiring singers and instead feature well-known public figures competing for the franchise’s first celebrity championship.
A Celebrity Competition Like Never Before
For the first time in the show’s history, the competition will spotlight celebrities rather than undiscovered vocalists.
According to NBC, the cast will include actors, musicians, athletes, comedians, influencers, and reality television personalities, all stepping outside their comfort zones to showcase their singing abilities.
The network says the new format will also give viewers unprecedented access behind the scenes, allowing fans to see contestants prepare for each stage of the competition.
Although NBC has yet to reveal the celebrity lineup, the network says the contestants will be announced closer to the premiere.
New Behind-the-Scenes Features
Season 31 will introduce several new segments designed to bring viewers even closer to the action.
Voice Boot Camp will follow contestants as they prepare for their Blind Auditions, offering an inside look at rehearsals, coaching sessions, and the work that happens before performers take the stage.
Another addition, the VIP Room, will give contestants a chance to watch each other’s auditions in real time, capturing their reactions as the competition unfolds.
Later in the season, viewers will also get access to The Workroom, where celebrities will rehearse, strategize, and prepare for the Battle Rounds.
Together, the new features are expected to make The Voice: Celebrity feel more immersive than any previous season.
A New Coaching Panel Takes Over
The celebrity edition will feature a three-coach lineup.
Queen Latifah and Riley Green will return after making their coaching debuts during Season 30, while Joe Jonas joins the U.S. series as a coach for the first time.
Jonas is no stranger to the franchise. He previously appeared as a mentor and advisor on the American version and served as a coach on The Voice Australia in 2018.
Keke Palmer Becomes the New Host
One of the biggest changes comes behind the microphone.
NBC has officially named Keke Palmer as the new host of The Voice: Celebrity, replacing longtime host Carson Daly, who has fronted the show since it premiered in 2011.
Palmer brings plenty of hosting experience to the role. In addition to leading NBC’s game show Password—a performance that earned her a Daytime Emmy Award in 2024—she also hosts her popular podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, where she interviews stars from across the entertainment industry.
Although Daly is stepping away from hosting duties, he isn’t leaving the franchise completely. NBC confirmed he will remain part of the series as a producer, ensuring he’ll continue contributing behind the scenes even as a new era begins.
One More Season Before the Big Changes
Before The Voice: Celebrity debuts, fans still have one more traditional season to enjoy.
Season 30 premieres on September 21 and will feature returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, joined by first-time coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
It will also mark Carson Daly’s final season as host after leading the competition for 30 seasons.
When Will Season 31 Premiere?
NBC has not yet announced an exact premiere date for The Voice: Celebrity, and an official trailer has not been released.
However, the network has confirmed that the special season will premiere sometime in 2027, with episodes airing on NBC and streaming the following day on Peacock.
With a celebrity cast, new host, revamped coaching panel, and several never-before-seen features, Season 31 promises to be one of the most significant reinventions in The Voice history.
