The Voice is entering a new era, but Carson Daly wants fans to know he isn’t saying goodbye just yet.
Following the upcoming Season 30, NBC will launch The Voice: Celebrity, a brand-new version of the hit singing competition that replaces aspiring singers with celebrity contestants. Along with the new format comes a major change behind the scenes, as Keke Palmer takes over hosting duties for Season 31.
The announcement sparked immediate speculation that Daly was leaving the franchise altogether—but the longtime host has now addressed the rumors himself.
A New Chapter for The Voice
Premiering in spring 2027, The Voice: Celebrity will feature actors, musicians, athletes, comedians, influencers, and reality TV personalities competing to become the franchise’s first celebrity champion.
While the contestants may be different, the competition’s signature format will remain intact, with coaches building teams and mentoring contestants through each stage of the competition.
NBC has not yet revealed which celebrities will participate.
New Host, Familiar Faces
One of the biggest changes for Season 31 is behind the microphone.
Keke Palmer has officially been named the new host of The Voice: Celebrity, taking over the role Carson Daly has held since the show’s debut in 2011.
Palmer shared the news with fans in a playful Instagram video, saying:
“That’s right. It’s true. I’m hosting The Voice. I’ll see you guys there.”
The coaching panel will also feature a fresh lineup.
Queen Latifah and Riley Green will return after making their coaching debuts in Season 30, while Joe Jonas joins the U.S. series as a coach for the first time.
For Jonas, the opportunity marks the realization of a longtime dream.
Speaking on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast in 2023, the singer recalled learning that his brother, Nick Jonas, had been selected as a coach on The Voice while they were attending a Fleetwood Mac concert.
“As they’re playing ‘Landslide,’ I found out that he was going to be a judge on The Voice,” Joe said. “I was so jealous I cried my eyes out to ‘Landslide.'”
Although he was happy for his brother, Jonas admitted he had always hoped to land a coaching chair on the American version himself.
To celebrate his debut, The Voice released a lighthearted promotional video featuring Jonas playfully acting as security while checking each coach—including himself—into the studio.
Carson Daly Responds to Exit Rumors
After NBC announced Palmer as the new host, many fans assumed Daly was leaving The Voice entirely.
The longtime host quickly responded on Instagram to clear up the confusion.
“Many today have asked if I’m leaving the show. Nope. We’re gonna try out these two formats this fall/spring & see how it goes!” Daly wrote. “Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently.”
While Daly is stepping away from hosting the celebrity edition, he confirmed he will remain part of the franchise as a producer, continuing to work behind the scenes as The Voice begins its next chapter.

Before the celebrity edition premieres, fans can still look forward to Season 30, which debuts later this year with Carson Daly returning as host alongside coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green.
NBC has confirmed that The Voice: Celebrity is already in production and is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027.
Although the show is introducing a new host, celebrity contestants, and a revamped coaching panel, Carson Daly has made it clear that his journey with The Voice isn’t over—it’s simply evolving.
