Keith Urban is reportedly finding it difficult to move on following his divorce from Nicole Kidman after the Oscar-winning actress was recently photographed spending time with businessman Michael Reinstein in Portofino, Italy.
While neither Urban nor Kidman has publicly commented on the reports, new claims suggest the country music star has been deeply affected by the sight of his ex-wife appearing to move forward with her personal life.
Reports Claim Urban Fears Being “Replaced”
According to Australian magazine New Idea, Urban has been struggling emotionally since photos of Kidman and Reinstein surfaced during the actress’ Italian getaway.
The outlet claims Urban’s biggest concern is not the possibility of Kidman finding a new partner but how that relationship could affect his bond with the former couple’s daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
A source alleged that Urban fears being “replaced” as a father figure after reports suggested the teenagers were also in Italy during Kidman’s trip. However, there has been no confirmation that Reinstein ever met either of the girls.
The same report also claimed that Urban and Kidman reached a verbal agreement after their divorce not to introduce new romantic partners to their daughters until at least one year after their split.
Neither Urban nor Kidman has publicly addressed those claims.
Family Rumors Continue to Fuel Speculation
The latest report comes just months after renewed speculation about Urban’s relationship with his daughters.
Earlier this year, Naughty But Nice reported that Sunday Rose briefly unfollowed her father on social media before following him again only hours later.
An unnamed source claimed the move was intentional and that Urban understood the message. The report further alleged that Kidman later encouraged her daughter to refollow him in an effort to avoid drawing more public attention to the family’s private matters.
Despite the ongoing rumors, Urban has consistently spoken about how important fatherhood is to him.
In a 2018 interview with ABC News, the Grammy-winning singer reflected on raising daughters with Kidman.
“I just love being a parent. I didn’t know that I’d ever get to be one. It’s an incredible feeling. And having girls—I love having girls. I come from a family with no sisters, one brother, so it’s been quite the learning curve in a really good way.”
Urban was last publicly photographed with Sunday and Faith in December 2024.
Romance Rumors Reportedly End Reconciliation Hopes
According to New Idea, seeing Kidman with Reinstein has also reportedly ended any lingering hope Urban had of reconciling with his former wife.
“Up until now, he still had hopes there might be a chance at a reconciliation,” an unnamed source claimed. “He’s absolutely devastated and is going through that feeling of deep loss all over again.”
Similar claims have previously appeared in RadarOnline, which alleged that Urban wanted to repair the marriage while Kidman had already accepted that the relationship was over.
One source reportedly told the outlet, “Keith absolutely wanted Nicole back. He believed they could work through their problems. Nicole had already moved on. Nicole made it clear the marriage was over.”
Nicole Kidman Continues to Spark Dating Speculation
Adding to the speculation, Kidman was recently photographed in Los Angeles after private equity investor Michael Reinstein reportedly picked her up from Hollywood Burbank Airport.
Photos published by TMZ showed the actress riding in the passenger seat of Reinstein’s black Ferrari following her return from a promotional trip to New York, fueling further rumors that the pair may be romantically involved.
Neither Kidman nor Reinstein has publicly commented on the nature of their relationship.
A New Chapter After Nearly Two Decades Together
Kidman and Urban first met in 2005 and married the following year, becoming one of Hollywood’s most recognizable couples.
After nearly 20 years together, the pair reportedly separated in September 2025, with their divorce finalized in January 2026.
