The Voice is preparing to return for its 30th season, but viewers will notice one familiar face missing from the coaching lineup.
Season 30 is scheduled to premiere Monday, September 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. This time, the show is returning to a more familiar format, with Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine back in their coaching chairs alongside newcomers Riley Green and Queen Latifah.
But Michael Bublé will not be part of the new season.
So, why is the Canadian superstar sitting this one out?
Bublé Has Not Revealed an Official Reason
So far, Bublé has not publicly confirmed why he decided not to return for Season 30. That has left fans wondering whether his absence is simply a scheduling decision or connected to bigger plans for his music career.

A Busy Year and a New Musical Direction
Bublé has had a particularly busy 2026. Along with touring and his other professional commitments, the singer has been working on a major new project: a country music album.
During a January appearance on Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce, Bublé revealed that he had been working with producer Dann Huff in Nashville on the project. He explained that country music has been part of his life for years and described the album as his own “love letter to country music.”
The project appears to be more than just a side experiment. Bublé has spoken enthusiastically about the music and said the experience of making the record has been unlike anything he has experienced before.
His growing connection to the country music world was also evident when he appeared at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards in May. Following the event, he expressed how honored he was to be welcomed into the country music community and hinted that fans could see more from him in that world.
Family May Also Be Part of the Decision
Bublé’s professional schedule isn’t the only factor that may have influenced his decision.
The singer and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, are raising their four children in Burnaby, British Columbia, while The Voice is based in Los Angeles. The distance between the two locations can make a long television commitment especially demanding for someone balancing touring, recording and family responsibilities.
Bublé has also continued to make family time a priority. Earlier in August, he shared a message following a family trip to Rome, thanking the staff at the Parco dei Principi for looking after them during their vacation.
A Break From The Voice May Simply Make Sense
Taken together, the clues point to a fairly simple possibility: Bublé may have decided that this is the right moment to focus on other parts of his life and career.
Between touring, recording his upcoming country album, spending time with his family and pursuing other projects, the singer already has plenty on his plate.
That doesn’t necessarily mean his time on The Voice is over for good. For now, though, NBC is moving ahead with Season 30 without him, leaving fans to wonder whether Bublé will eventually return to the coaching chair.
